Research - Target Audience

During class yesterday my team mate Sandra suggested that our target audience should be the "Generation Z," since I have never heard of this so-called "Generation Z"  I decided to some research in order to define whether it would be a good fit for our magazine. The website "Generation Z" defines it's a generation that is global, social, visual and technological. They are the most connected, educated and sophisticated generation ever. They are the up-agers, with influence beyond their years. They are the tweens, the teens, the youth and young adults of our global society. They are the early adopters, the brand influencers, the social media drivers, the pop-culture leaders. I found it interesting that they tend to be very image-based and signs, logos, and brands communicate across the language barriers with color and pictures than-than long articles, which is an extremely important characteristic for the basis of a photography magazine. I personally think it would be a practical audience to target; since my group is part of the z generation it would be simpler for us to relate to the preferences of the audience.
