Beginning stage - Genre

At the beginning, my group and I thought we would do a men's magazine, but soon we realized it wouldn't be as possible as we predicted;since, we have to do four different editions. We needed a genre that would be broad enough to allow each member to shine their unique individual inspirations. While browsing for different types of magazine genres and layouts I stumbled upon an application called ISSUU. I found this application extremely dynamic and interesting; since, not only does it allow you to "view more than 30 million publications that are completely free" but as allows audiences to post publications themselves to share to the world and through various social media platforms i.e. Twitter or Facebook. It also allows easy access to various genres of magazines based on personal interests such as style&fashion, travel, sports and much more. Soon enough, I found what I thought would be the perfect fit a photography magazine for my group. I started to view various photography magazine to see the basic outline of them. After viewing various publications they consisted mainly of large one-page photographs, photography techniques, double-page location features with an article, featured photographers, the story behind the picture and example of what I'm talking about is here. I'm going to bring these ideas tomorrow to my groups and discuss what they think of this and share with them the application that might help them as well.
